Affiliate marketing is extremely simple to get started with when you want to make money online. The bad news is that there are many confusing myths about affiliate marketing that may have you wondering about how to make money using affiliate marketing methods. Here are some common myths about affiliate marketing.

Myth Number One: Affiliate Marketing will Get You Rich Quick

You need to have a plan of action when you are an affiliate marketer otherwise you will make no money. You just cannot simply sign up for an affiliate program and expect money to start rolling in. It takes time and patience to run a successful affiliate marketing business, and you need to build your online business just like you would with any other type of business, rarely have we seen a no-name business that turned successful within just one month, however, this has happened on rare occasions, but are you the exception to this rule? Have you created something so awesome that the world has called upon you to deliver? if not, then you are just like everyone else that has to work hard, then maybe one day you will be lucky enough to see the fruits of your labor, and this may take effort, money, patience, and time.

Myth Number Two: Affiliate Marketers Don't Have to Create a Brand to Succeed

You do need to create a brand for yourself to be a successful internet marketer. You need to work hard to build a strong level of trust with your target audience and always communicate with them. Creating a brand is an essential part of any online business, however, creating a brand may not apply to everyone, maybe you just want to sell something on Amazon like "top 10 vacuum cleaners" in this case, then a brand is not needed, but if you are creating/selling your own products, then you may consider branding your company; A brand show strength in your company, and will not imply that you are some weak generic company trying to sell the top 10 vacuum cleaners, at the end of the day, you have to decide if a brand will be right for you, and this really depends on your overgoal goals in what you are trying to accomplish.

Myth Number Three: If a Product is Good Enough You Don't Have to Put Any Effort into Marketing

This is not the case at all as you cannot, as an affiliate marketer, expect to make any money if you do not take the time to properly market your products. You need to have a strong marketing plan in place to get the products that you are promoting seen by other people. Take DigitalGlobal.com for instance, even though we have awesome branding, but it does not mean squat until this site make some type of progression that will get the word out, otherwise, no one will know that we exist, even if you have the greatest brand or product in the world, if no one knows that you exist, then your brand or product does not really mean very much to anyone.

Myth Number Four: You Can Be Successful Without a Website

Here again, this is not true at all. If you want to be a successful affiliate marketer, you need to make sure you set up a website that has supporting information on it. This way you can show your target audience that you know what you are selling. If you are serious about getting into affiliate marketing, then you will want to set up your own site so that you can properly inform your audience on whatever product or service that you may be trying to promote, and if you expect visitors to take your site seriously, then you should avoid using any type of free hosting platforms as no one will consider that you are running a real or even a legit business.

Learn all that you can about affiliate marketing and discover the truth from the myths and you will be able to better figure out if affiliate marketing is for you.

The number one myth that gets me laughing so hard that I couldn't control myself. Nothing ever makes one get rich quickly without putting the person under a lot of stress. Not even fraud, one still needs to plan and prepare for all the security measures that might get him or her exposed and caught.

Just like Ponzi scheme promises quick money and making one rich, it still is a big lie because it would literally put one out of commission by leaving the person without any, So with affiliate marketing, as a beginner, a lot of work is needed and it doesn't guarantee success immediately.

and some of the more advanced scammers do a really do job by creating high-quality professional sites, then they will use the face of some known person such as Dr. Oz, then promote their fake face cream, and the affiliates are doing all the work thinking everything is legit, and often see such ads on Facebook and google, and has made scammers alot of money, and often they do not get caught because they are doing this from other countries, and by the time the consumer realizes that the product was fake, then it is already too late, and not very much they can do about it either, and I am sure these ads are shut down when they are caught, but that does not stop their affiliates from promoting their fake products, and as long as the scammer is making money, then they will continue to do this until pay processors step in, and cut off their funding, and I am sure this happens too.

You cannot succeed in affiliate marketing if you believe any of the above myths, most especially myth number four. This is actually the most common myth. Many affiliate marketers will choose the right product, create a strong brand, market the product, but then opt to use someone else's website rather than create their own. Posting your affiliate links in another website will get you into a lot of trouble. Getting banned or suspended is not necessary and creating your own website is not that hard, really!

There are so many advantages that arise from using your own website for marketing. For one, you don't have to risk getting kicked out. Secondly, customers will take you more seriously and see the seriousness you have put into marketing. With your own website, you can also earn from Google AdSense, where Google posts its own ads on your platform.

I suspect a lot of people may not want to deal with creating and setting up their own site, maybe it is too complex, or they simply do not want to deal with the hassle of having a website to begin with, but they will certainly join an affiliate platform and start posting affiliate links where-ever they can, however, by having your own website makes you look a bit more professional, but these kind of affiliates are looking for quick money, and they are not interested in doing it right or waiting, and they take the "want it now approach" and nothing less will stand in their way of trying to make quick money.

One of the biggest myths out there is that people need technical skills or live in a certain country to be an affiliate marketer and a successful one at that. There is a lot of affiliate marketers from all over the world who make tons of money by taking advantage of every useful information that they can find online.

Anyone can set up a site, however, it is always best to have some type of affiliate marketing skills, otherwise, you could just as easily be blinded and go in a direction that may yield no results. It can take a long time for an affiliate site to even start earning money, and if you are doing everything wrong, then you may not know until you have spent a year trying to make money, then you have realized you may have picked a bad niche.

Picking a bad niche is possible, but a niche is only as good as the affiliate marketer. One person may decide to promote clothing for a certain company by use of Facebook ads and links on his timeline and another may make a website to promote cars. Promoting a company that manufactures cars is very difficult because there are so many reputable companies worldwide. However, even with the competition, you may find that the latter person may make more sales than the former simply because even with the obvious disadvantage, the affiliate marketer has more drive and integrates his/her strengths with the trends. Affiliate marketer number one may end up failing miserably because as much as the market for clothes is always there, his marketing strategy is very poor and ineffective.

It's true that some scammers are really good at what they do, in fact some would set up a high end website that would pass every test to determine if it's a scam site. Sometimes, I keep wondering how they are able to do this. Instead of finding a way to go legit and make money, these scammers would go through so much stress just to set up a fake scam site.

Scammers are usually the best of the best in Information Technology, and I also argue that they should use their vast knowledge in web design and programming to come up with an excellent and legit money making site. However, the most obvious reason they'd rather rip off innocent people is laziness, and just because they can. It is just like the thrill some people get from shop lifting. It's not that they lack money, but just want to feel like they have the power, and that they can get away with it.

that is true, you could just as well pick the great niche available, however, if your marketing skills are not up to par, then it would be the same as if you did pick a bad niche. ***** markets their site using google ads, if ***** is all that good, then why do they need to promote their site at all? I suspect *****'s SEO may not be all that good, otherwise, if ***** had great SEO, then why would they need to market their site using google ads?
