When it comes to internet marketing for your business, you have likely been told that you need to become an expert in your niche to become successful. But how do you know when you have become an expert in your chosen niche?

Create a Solid Public Profile

You need to create a solid public profile online in order to be seen as an expert. If you create a high-quality profile for your business, you will attract the same quality people and that doesn't really happen by accident. It happens through hard work and dedication, and this may take effort, time, and hard work.

Get Yourself Noticed

You have to get the work out about your business so that you can be seen as the person to go to in your niche. Just be sure that you are doing this the right way so that people will see you as a professional and not simply someone who is out just to make money. If people see that your only interest maybe money, then these visitors may not hang around for long as they have already seen this time and time again, and they do not want to be sold a pitch, and if your goal is only money, then you are more likely not to succeed period. What you should do is concentrate on helping others that are as like minded as you are in your niche, otherwise, it will be a waste of time. If you want to get noticed, then you must bring something to the table that is different, and unique that is not already out there, otherwise, you may find yourself fighting against the grain that may already be out on the market.

Define How You Want to Be Seen

Defining how your brand will be seen is another thing that will get you seen as an expert in your niche. You alone will decide how you are portrayed so do you want to be seen as someone who offers products at a low rate or maybe someone who gets results, and this choice is yours alone. If you sell products super cheap, then visitors may not have any trust in what you are selling, and if your prices are too high, then your visitors simply will not buy anything and leave your site as quickly as they arrived, and this is why trial and error is so important, if you skip this step, then you may as well not go much further as there are no easy get rich methods anymore, and skipping out on testing that you should be doing may result in failure; How do you know what works and what doesnt?

Continue to Deliver Great Content

You never want to stop making sure that you are supplying great quality content to your audience. You need them to know that you are very knowledgeable in your niche and that you are the one to turn to should they have an issue that you can help them solve, and if you can help solve issues, then they will trust you enough to buy. Do not do it for google, do not do it for money, as money should be your very last step if you want to succeed.

Doing all of these things will help to establish you as an expert in your particular niche. So work hard to make sure that you accomplish all of them.

One niche which I would say that I'm quite an expert in is sports (soccer). Everything around me revolves within football (soccer). I can do several quality articles on any football league, clubs, its players and teams transfer news.

I watch football regularly, read news online to generate content ideas and even play amature football as well. All these helps me to have an edge and a deep background in the sport niche. Hopefully, one day soon, I would have my own site and do some great work on it even though I'm aware it's not going to be easy.

Football is truly one niche that simply cannot be exhausted, there is always a new topic developing in the niche constantly. It's definitely a good niche for one to focus on. Although there are lots sites that deal on football niche, sites like goal.com, allfootball, soccernet.com etc, and all these sites are already trusted by millions of people to visit it first. So one starting up a new football niche should know there is a good competition in the field.

I agree, sports may be a niche, but it would not really be the niche for this forum, and I suspect that there are tons of sports-related forums on the internet, and DG wants to see more Business/marketing posts that may be related to online business or online marketing, and I am not so sure setting up these off-topic discussions was a good idea since content that is not relevant to our niche may bring the wrong kind of traffic to our forum.

Marketing involves targeting a specific demographic and to do this you actually have to put in the hours and find out everything you need to know about their problems and how you are going to come up with the solutions. providing a specific product or service will now become your niche from which a broader market might benefit and this should always be on your main objective.

a lot of people will try to promote their product or service on Facebook, and one of the key points they often miss is how to properly target Facebook users, and if they do not understand the audience that they are targetting, then all they will end up doing is spending money with little to no results to show for, and there are a number of other issues that could result in no FB conversations, and properly targeting your audience is a big one.

Determine your niche, preferably a market your passionate about, and narrow down from there. That is the best move.
Then it may be your worst move, no one really cares what you are passionate about, as this is not about you, it is about what others are passionate about, and it does not matter what you are buying because you are not the one buying, your customers are, and you have to find out what other people are passionate about, and once you are able to tap into their emotions and solve their problems or what they are looking for, then you got them on the hook.

I get your point, maybe what one's passion may not be what other people are looking for, but what if what I'm passionate about is a really profitable niche, what then?
