Chess rules on movement for pieces

Pawns:
A Pawn can move only forward. A Pawn can cross adjacent squares. A pawn can be promoted to any pieces except king when it reaches the far end.

King:
A king can move only one square one any direction.

Queen:
A Queen can move in any direction.

Light Squared Bishop:
A light Squared Bishop move light square diagonally.

Dark-Squared Bishop:
A Dark-squared bishop can move dark square diagonally.

Rook:
A rook can move anywhere expect diagonal square.

Knight:
A knight can move in L shaped format.

Though I knew it, Thanks for the information as many members who want to learn the game can learn from the information. have you mentioned about 8 x 8 squared board with alternate black and white squares?

No, I haven't mentioned that. Totally there would be 64 squares on a chess board.
